HMS for Africa

The hospital system that keeps working when the grid doesn’t.

Most hospital software assumes constant mains power, a fast fixed line and a Western budget. Across much of Africa none of those hold. Medveon is an offline-first system that installs on the phones your staff already carry, keeps working through outages and dead spots, and can run entirely inside your own country — or entirely on your own server.

Power cuts and weak links are the design case, not the edge case

A browser-only system is a website in disguise: when the link drops, the ward drops with it and staff fall back to paper. Medveon installs as an app, holds the ward’s working data on the device, and syncs the moment a connection returns. Rounds, notes, orders and discharges continue through the outage.

It is built mobile-first because in most wards the phone in a clinician’s pocket is the most reliable computer in the building.

Keep patient data inside your borders

Run it as managed cloud for the fastest start, inside your own cloud account, or fully on-premises on a machine in your hospital with no dependence on an outside link. Access is row-level-security enforced so a resident sees their ward and no one else’s, and data is encrypted at rest. Where national rules govern where health data may live, on-premises or in-country hosting is the straightforward answer. This is general information, not legal advice — verify requirements with your local regulator or a healthcare lawyer.

Priced against real budgets

From USD 199/mo for a single clinician and from USD 9 per bed / month for a full hospital, with local-currency pricing on request. Public, teaching, charity and mission hospitals get a 30–50% discount. A configured deployment — where we encode your unit’s own workflow, migrate records and train staff — is quoted individually. Invoicing is by bank transfer or regional wallets; there is no card gateway yet, so collection is arranged directly.

Offline-first

Installs like an app and keeps working through outages and weak links; syncs when the connection returns.

Mobile-first

Runs on the Android phones staff already carry — no ward PC rollout required.

In-country or on-prem

Managed cloud, your own cloud, or a fully on-premises install with no outside dependency.

Per-bed pricing

Frequently asked questions

Does it work during power cuts and poor connectivity?

Yes. It is an offline-first progressive web app: it installs like an app, keeps working with no connection, and syncs automatically when the link returns.

Can we host it in our own country?

Yes — managed cloud, your own cloud account, or a fully on-premises install inside the hospital. On-premises keeps patient data entirely within your borders.

What does it cost for an African hospital?

From USD 9 per bed per month for a full hospital and from USD 199/mo for a single clinician, with local-currency pricing on request and 30-50% discounts for public, teaching, charity and mission hospitals. Configured deployments are quoted individually.

Who supports it?

Support is direct from the team that builds it, remotely and asynchronously. It is deliberately boutique rather than a 24-hour call centre, and we cap how many sites we take on at once so delivery does not degrade.
